Un poema de Leonard Cohen
Escuchando
estos días (noviembre – diciembre de 2023...) a Serrat, a Bob Dylan, a León Gieco...
...y después de leer de nuevo el poema
“
Otherwise” de Chaim Gouri...
...se me ocurrió (después de escuchar varias veces su Dance Me to the End of Love de Leonard Cohen) buscar en mi biblioteca un librito suyo
donde, hojeándolo descuidadamente, encontré este otro poema que por alguna
razón que no comprendo del todo, pensé que venía bien al ánimo en el que me siento este mes.
Los dos tienen algo que ver con esa constante lucha judía con —en contra de— ese tal Adonai. Leonard es más elíptico..., quizás más indirectamente irónico, que Chaim.
Aquí va:

Con estos dos versos, Cohen está citando los primeros dos versos del Kaddish, la oración (rezo) en arameo que leemos en honor y recuerdo de los difuntos.
De este modo, “You want it darker” se emparienta también con el Kaddish de Allen Ginsberg.
Himeni Himeni (“Aquí estoy...” o “Aquí estoy listo para cumplir con tus mandatos...”) es la irreflexiva respuesta de Abraham al comienzo del episodio del sacrificio de Isaac que se encuentra en el Génesis, 22.
